BIOGRAPHY

Rory is a composition / ethnomusicology masters student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Rory’s compositions offer up an emergence of styles and genres taking influence from his work in Chinese music and studies of Jazz, Funk, Rock, World, and Contemporary Art music. Rory studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music as part of an exchange program in 2017. Rory won a composition competition from the Central Conservatory of Beijing’sDecember 2021, and has been invited to the Conservatory in Beijing to present at a conference in October 2023. Rory’s pieces have been performed in Beijing and Shanghai and have been broadcast on ABC Radio National.
